Volunteer Tour Guide Trainings

Interested in bringing Grand Lake’s rich history to life? Become a Volunteer Tour Guide at the Cottage Court Museum or the Kauffman House Museum! Tour guides (also called docents) play a vital role in helping visitors connect with our local heritage through storytelling, education, and warm hospitality.

Whether you’re a history buff, a people person, or simply looking for a meaningful way to give back to the community, we welcome volunteers of all backgrounds. No prior experience is necessary—we’ll provide the training!

Upcoming Training Sessions – Meet at the Museum:
📍 Cottage Court Museum
– Thursday, May 15th at 10:00 AM
– Friday, May 16th at 2:00 PM
– Sunday, May 18th at 3:00 PM

📍 Kauffman House Museum
– Wednesday, May 21st at 12:00 PM
– Thursday, May 22nd at 5:15 PM

Training includes an overview of the museum’s history, how to lead engaging tours, and tips for connecting with visitors of all ages. These sessions are relaxed and informative—just bring your curiosity!
