Support the Second Phase of the Grand Spirit Makerspace: Equipping It!
The Vision Has Become Reality.
Now it’s time to fully equip the Grand Spirit Makerspace.
Help Us Fully Equip the Makerspace
While the building is finished and programming has launched, the work of creating a world-class makerspace continues.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, we have already secured approximately $116,000 toward our $200,000 equipment and tool goal. This includes a transformative $89,000 grant for major shop equipment, along with an additional $27,000 raised through community donations and support.
These funds have allowed us to begin offering workshops in leatherworking, cobbling, and woodturning, but there is still important work ahead. Many essential tools and supplies remain on our wish list—particularly for our woodworking and silversmithing programs. Workbenches, hand tools, specialty equipment, storage systems, and instructional resources are all needed to fully realize the Makerspace’s potential.
With approximately $84,000 still needed, every contribution helps expand programming opportunities, increase access to equipment, and ensure this resource serves generations of makers, artisans, and learners.

Leave Your Mark on the Makerspace
To recognize those making a lasting investment in this community resource, donors who contribute $5,000 or more will receive a custom horseshoe displayed on our donor recognition wall next to the Makerspace garage entrance. Each horseshoe will be engraved with the donor’s name, family name, or business name, creating a permanent tribute to the individuals and organizations helping build the future of craftsmanship and heritage arts in Grand Lake.
Whether you’re honoring a family legacy, celebrating your connection to Grand Lake, or supporting the next generation of makers, this is a unique opportunity to become a permanent part of the Makerspace’s story.
No donation is too small. Whether you contribute $25, $250, or $2,500, your support directly impacts the tools, equipment, and learning opportunities available within the Makerspace. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Rocky Mountain Folk School donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
Together, we’re creating a lasting community asset that celebrates creativity, preserves traditional skills, and inspires lifelong learning in Grand Lake.
