Project Updates: From Vision to Reality














Grand Spirit Makerspace
- The exterior of the building is 100% complete.
- Interior finishes are in their final stages, with plumbing fixtures installed, trim stained, cabinetry installed, and doors and hardware in place.
- Flooring installation in the mezzanine is nearly complete, creating additional teaching and program space.
- Equipment and furnishings have been moved into the facility as preparations for opening continue.
- Final construction activities, including exterior wood siding staining and completion of the mezzanine stair, have been substantially completed.
- The facility is undergoing final setup and readiness preparations for programming and operations.
- Rocky Mountain Folk School classes have officially begun, with a full schedule of workshops and educational programming now underway.
- The ribbon-cutting celebration was successfully held during Memorial Day Weekend on May 23, 2026.

Grand Spirit Makerspace is entering its operational phase, with construction wrapping up and classes, equipment installation, and community programming now actively underway.

Space to Create Grand Lake – Project Updates
- Landscaping is nearly complete, bringing the site closer to its finished appearance.
- Roofing work is in its final stages and nearing completion.
- Interior construction and finishing work are almost complete across the residential units and artist studios.
- Plumbing and electrical installations have been substantially completed, with final inspections and finishing work underway.
- Construction of the expanded boardwalk along Park Avenue, Hancock Street, and the east side of Pitkin Street continues to make progress.
- The new “Lift” bus shelter/transfer station connecting Grand Lake to Granby and Winter Park remains under development.
- Resident recruitment is actively underway. Interviews have begun, with additional applications continuing to arrive and more interviews scheduled in the coming weeks.
- Additional boardwalk improvements along Pitkin Street (across from RMFS) remain scheduled for later this summer.
- A ribbon-cutting celebration is tentatively planned during Buffalo BBQ weekend.
- Resident move-in is now anticipated for July 2026

This project continues to move steadily toward completion and activation, marking a significant milestone in expanding affordable housing and creative workspace opportunities in Grand Lake.
