Beginning Leatherworking: Hand-Stitched Basket

October 29 @ 9:00 am - 12:30 pm
$90.10
Handmade brown leather handle bag with decorative stitching and rivets, showcasing a leatherworking workshop at Rocky Mountain Folk School in Grand Lake, Colorado.

Create a beautiful, functional leather basket while learning the fundamentals of hand-stitching leather. This beginner-friendly project is a great introduction to leatherworking and requires no prior experience.

You’ll learn how to work with leather, prepare your pieces, and use traditional hand-stitching techniques to assemble your basket around a solid wooden base. Your instructor will guide you through each step, making this a relaxed and approachable class for anyone new to leatherworking.

Your finished basket will measure approximately 8 inches in diameter and 12 inches tall, making it a versatile size for organizing craft supplies, yarn, magazines, towels, accessories, or other everyday items. You’ll leave with a handmade piece you can use and the skills to continue exploring leatherworking on your own.
