Mixed Media Mosaics

Discover the secrets of creating awe-inspiring classical mosaics with a modern twist! Led by the renowned artist and educator Renee Walkup, this program offers a rare chance to make a beautiful piece of art using found and repurposed items–such as stained glass, china, jewelry, glass tiles, and objects from nature. All materials are provided, however, students are encouraged to bring treasures from home to incorporate into their artwork.

Instruction will include mosaic design principles, color ideas, layout, preferred adhesives, indoor vs. outdoor mosaics, and technical advice. Nipping, shaping, and cutting glass as well as tiles, is included in the instruction. This course is recommended for beginners to intermediate makers.
