“Drawing Grand Lake History” offers a captivating journey into the past for participants of all ages (those under 16 accompanied by a parent or guardian). Through the medium of drawing, we delve into the essence of Grand Lake’s heritage, using historic objects as our inspiration. Guided by experienced instructor Holly Sumner (https://hollysumner.net), students explore basic drawing techniques and composition, gaining insights into the stories woven into our local artifacts. From antique treasures to cherished heirlooms, each object becomes a conduit for creative expression and a gateway to uncovering the rich tapestry of our mountain community’s history.

Join us in this immersive experience where art meets heritage. Bring your curiosity and enthusiasm as we sketch our way through time, capturing the essence of Grand Lake’s legacy one stroke at a time. With drawing pads, pencils, erasers, and charcoal provided, all you need to bring is your passion for discovery. Together, let’s celebrate the stories that shape our community, preserving them through the timeless art of drawing.
