This format allows students to experience the complete pottery process while receiving personalized instruction and support. \nThe Sunday Pottery Series is a repeatable program\, with content and projects varying based on the experience level\, interests\, and goals of each group. New potters will receive foundational instruction in wheel throwing and handbuilding\, while returning students may continue developing their skills\, refining techniques\, and exploring new projects. \nUpon successful completion of the series and demonstration of safe studio practices\, participants may be eligible to apply for Pottery Membership\, which provides independent access to the pottery studio during designated open studio hours. \nPlease note: This class includes instructor-led sessions only. Open studio access outside of scheduled class time is not included with this series. Independent studio access is available exclusively to approved Pottery Members.

SUMMARY:Matana Roberts: New Solo Saxophone Improvisations
DESCRIPTION:Join saxophonist and multidisciplinary artist Matana Roberts for an evening of new solo saxophone improvisations in Shadowcliff’s historic chapel. \nRoberts is perhaps best known for Coin Coin\, an ongoing twelve-part cycle that weaves together history\, narrative\, community\, and political life into what they have described as “panoramic sound quilting.” \nRoberts has performed at Newport Jazz Festival\, Big Ears\, Berliner Festspiele\, and concert halls across Europe and the United States. Their work has been described as soul-baring\, transporting\, and “like getting a glimpse into another dimension.” \nThis performance is part of Shadowcliff’s 2026 Still Point Sessions residencies\, bringing artists to the mountains for a week of creative work in Grand Lake. \n2026 Still Point Sessions residencies have been supported\, in part\, by a grant from the Town of Grand Lake Donor Advised Fund.
