SUMMARY:Build a Stand Up Paddleboard
DESCRIPTION:September 4th – 7th from 9:00-4:00PM \nLocation: Grand Lake\, CO \nLearn to build a beautiful wooden Stand-Up Paddleboard. No previous woodworking experience necessary. We will construct a Chesapeake Light Craft Kaholo 14’ board together. \nThis class will be 3.5 days over the Labor Day Weekend\, September 4th-7th\, 2026 at the new Maker Space in Grand Lake\, Colorado. \nTuition is $300 (one third the cost of other boat schools). If you want to go home with a paddleboard of your own\, reach out to us and we will tell you how it works. DESCRIPTION:Friday\, October 16th from 9:00AM-3:00PM \nLocation: Grand Lake\, CO \nAs woodworking hobbyists\, we can’t always work wood as much as we would like; therefore\, it can be difficult to achieve the same level of skill as full-time craftsmen.  Also as hobbyists\, finishing our projects quickly may not be as much of a priority\, so advancing our projects more slowly and carefully is possible because there are no deadlines. \nSugita’s Woodworking Method\, by Toyohisa Sugita\, offers a unique approach to woodworking\, emphasizing hand craftsmanship and precision.  By leveraging saw guides with magnetic sheets\, this innovative methodology allows woodworkers of all skill levels to achieve high quality results with hand tools.  The skills and techniques outlined in the book\, Woodworking Joinery by Hand\, enables hand-cut joinery with impressive accuracy\, eliminating the need for nails or screws while at the same time achieving the same high machining results of power tools. \n$600.00 includes all materials/tools \n$240.00 Includes book\, use of instructional materials\, and purchase of MiRAI saw.
