SUMMARY:Pottery: 2-Day Wheel and Underglaze Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Date: Friday\, Oct 25\, 2024 (6pm-8pm) & Sunday\, Oct 27\, 2024 (2pm – 6pm)\nCost: $90\nLevel/Age: All experience levels; 16+\nInstructor: Elizabeth Wise\nLocation: RMFS Building – 315 Pitkin Ave\, Grand Lake\, CO \nJoin us for an immersive 2-day workshop where you’ll experience the joy of creating and decorating your own ceramic bowls. \nDay 1: We’ll begin by throwing bowls on the wheel. Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience\, you’ll have the freedom to create bowls in a size that suits your comfort and interest. Our instructor\, Wise\, will guide you through the process\, helping you shape your pieces to your liking. \nDay 2: Once your bowls have dried to the right consistency\, we’ll dive into the artistic side of ceramics. Using underglazes like watercolor paints\, you’ll have the opportunity to add color and personality to the inside of your bowls. The workshop will finish with a glossy clear glaze on the inside\, creating a beautiful contrast with the natural\, textured clay exterior. This combination highlights the tactile beauty of the clay and adds a unique character to each piece. \nInstructor Bio: \nWise is a seasoned ceramicist with over a decade of experience and a deep passion for art that connects people. Originally from Virginia\, Wise has lived and worked across the globe\, bringing a wealth of cultural and artistic influences to her work. She holds a BA in Art History from Sweet Briar College and an MA in Art History from the University of Oklahoma. Wise’s artistic approach combines the raw beauty of clay with delicate brushwork and intricate textures\, exploring the connections formed through shared experiences and conversations. She specializes in both functional and sculptural ceramics\, often experimenting with wood and electric kilns to achieve unique results. \n\n\nRegister by going to https://secure.rec1.com/CO/grand-lake-co/catalog  or Learn More
