Grand Lake Creative District is excited to announce a major milestone in our ongoing efforts to enhance our community’s creative landscape. We’re thrilled to share that we’ve secured a significant $4 million grant through the Strong Communities Grant Program. This grant is a testament to our commitment to fostering creativity and economic resilience in Grand Lake.
The funds from this grant will be instrumental in advancing our Space to Create project, a transformative initiative aimed at enriching our community through arts-focused development. The project will include the creation of 18 rental units, alongside commercial and community spaces on the ground floor. These spaces will serve as vibrant hubs for local artists, entrepreneurs, and community members to collaborate and thrive.
A key objective of the Space to Create project is to strengthen Grand Lake’s year-round economy by retaining and supporting our creative community. By providing affordable housing and dedicated spaces for artistic and commercial endeavors, we’re laying the groundwork for sustainable growth and prosperity. This project aligns closely with our mission to cultivate a vibrant and inclusive community where creativity flourishes.
We’re immensely grateful for the support and collaboration of individuals like DiAnn Butler from Grand County Economic Development and former Mayor John Crone, who have played pivotal roles in advancing this project. Their dedication and advocacy have been instrumental in securing this grant and moving the Space to Create project forward.
As we embark on this exciting journey, we invite the entire community to join us in shaping the future of Grand Lake. Together, we can create a more vibrant, resilient, and creatively inspired community for generations to come. Stay tuned for updates as we continue to progress with the Space to Create project and bring our vision to life.
